Chapter 01
Grading comes before anything else
Every job Cloverleaf's crews take on since 1999 starts with the grade, not the plants and not the lawn. If the ground under a patio, a bed or a lawn is not shaped and sloped correctly first, nothing installed on top of it stays where it was put.
That is true on a brand new lot and it is true on a yard that has been settled and resettled for decades. Grading is the unglamorous first step that decides whether everything after it holds.

Hardscape, then planting, then lawn
Crews specialize in three things, worked in this order: hardscaping such as patios and retaining walls, then planting trees, shrubs and perennials, then lawn installation by grading, seeding and sodding. The order is not a house style, it is what avoids redoing work.
Hardscape goes in first because heavy equipment and material deliveries would otherwise cross freshly planted beds or a new lawn. Planting follows once the hard structure of the site is set. Lawn goes in last, once nothing heavy is still crossing it.
Chapter 03
Seed or sod, called honestly
Cloverleaf will not push a customer either way between seeding and sodding a new lawn. Sod is immediate and holds a slope better while it establishes. Seed costs less and, given the right season and watering, ends up just as good a lawn.
The right answer depends on the season, the budget and how much erosion risk the site actually has, not on which one is easier to sell. That is the same straightforward approach the crews bring to a hardscape job or a planting bed.
